Baringa FC are excited to be hosting Walking Football, starting early in 2020. Walking Football is a smaller & slower version of the world game, FOOTBALL. It is a low-impact, team-based exercise, providing physical & mental health benefits, social connectedness and promotion of the benefits of ongoing physical activity. Played in formats of 4v4, 5v5, 6v6+ the options are very flexible. The field size can be adjusted to suit the number of participants, while at Grassroots level it can be played with or without goalkeepers and referees.
As a senior-based sport, playing Walking Football allows participants to enjoy a slow paced game at ‘their own’ pace with other like-minded people in a safe & social environment. It has been played overseas for over 10 years and has proven to have profound health improvements in participants over a period of time. The social aspect of walking football alone has broken the isolation cycle for thousands of players in that time. It is also a great tool to improve fitness levels of players and of course, it is also a lot of fun!
